The Nepal Population and Environment Scholars Network (NPESN) was established on August 4, 2025, in Kathmandu, Nepal.
NPESN operates as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaborative research, and evidence-based policy engagement. The network draws members from universities, research institutions, and public health organizations across Nepal and the broader South Asian region.It is an independent, non-partisan scholarly network that convenes researchers, academics.
Strategic Goals
Connect new generation of experts, students, policy makers and practitioner from social sciences, natural sciences, policy, and practice, enhancing the exchange of ideas and methods;
Foster collaborations that address multifaceted questions about population dynamics, resource use, human well-being, and environmental resilience;
Support evidence-based policies by translating robust research into actionable recommendations for government and civil society;
Build capacity among emerging scholars and researchers through shared resources, mentorship, and training;
Integrate indigenous and local knowledge, ensuring solutions are both culturally respectful and practically effective
Promote open data sharing and collaborative research projects that can have a wider impact;
Secure funding for long-term projects and initiatives that benefit both academia and society.
